Thank you for your interest in joining the Advocate Ministry. Advocates are a vital part of MAF. Advocates, while unpaid, are required to complete an application, an interview process, and agree to MAF's position-appropriate policies.

Individual Advocate Application

Please complete the following application. We ask you to provide basic biographical information and answer questions regarding your family, Christian testimony, work, volunteer and missions experience. Also within the application, you will provide us with three references - a pastor and two non-family members. Please consider who you would use as a reference, speak with them about MAF and where God is leading you in ministry. There will be a background/credit check and you will interview with an Advocate Regional Manager. Completing this application does not guarantee a partnership with the Advocate Ministry.

Once your application has been submitted you will receive further information regarding this process.

Post-Application Checkpoint

What do I need to do?

  1. Review the application and confirm the applicant is eligible to serve as an Advocate. 
  2. If eligible
    1. confirm or wait for the Application Agreements to be submitted. advocatewing@maf.org should be notified when Application Agreements are submitted with Staff Category Advocate selected. You may need to follow-up with the applicant.
    2. When the Application Agreements have been received, select Move Forward below and input the appropriate Regional Manager email address.
  3. If not eligible, select Reject below and provide your reasoning.

What happens next?

Clicking Submit Form, with Post-Application Checkpoint = Move Forward will generate 2 emails and assign you the next task in the workflow. One email will be the notification that you have  a new task. The other email will be sent to the selected Regional Manager, which provides instructions on how to proceed with the applicant.

Clicking Submit Form, with Advocate Admin Initial Checkpoint = Reject will complete the Formstack portion of the workflow.

Post-References Checkpoint

The Regional Manager has received instructions to complete interview and references. When the interview and references are complete, advocatewing@maf.org will receive a notification with instructions on how to proceed. Once you have the instructions, proceed with the task below.

What do I need to do?

  1. If rejecting the applicant, select Reject below and input the reasoning (your own or what was provided by the Regional Manager).
  2. If moving forward, complete a Background/Credit Check Request and select Move Forward.
  3. Regardless of the selected decision, upload the completed Advocate Reference Form.

What happens next?

Clicking Submit Form, with Post-References Checkpoint = Move Forward will generate an email you and assign you the next task in the workflow.

Clicking Submit Form, with Post-References Checkpoint = Reject will complete the Formstack portion of the workflow.

The background and credit checks have been requested from HR. When the background/credit check process is complete, you will receive a notification with instructions on how to proceed. Once you have the instructions, proceed with the task below.

  1. If rejecting the applicant, select Reject below and input the reasoning.
  2. If moving forward, select Move Forward.

What happens next?

Clicking Submit Form, with Post-Background/Credit Check Checkpoint = Move Forward will generate an email you and assign you the next task in the workflow. Additionally, the Acceptance Task email will be sent to the applicant

The background and credit checks have been received from HR; Acceptance Agreements and IT Systems Usage Policy have been requested from the Applicant. When the Acceptance Agreements is complete, advocatewing@maf.org will be notified. IT Systems Usage Policy does not generate a notification.

Confirm Training Complete

An email has been sent to the Regional Manager to begin training. When the Training Checklist is submitted advocatewing@maf.org will be notified. This task is used to track outstanding training.

What do I need to do?

  1. Ensure the Training Checklist has been submitted.

What happens next?

Clicking Submit Form will complete the Formstack portion of the workflow and indicate that training has been completed or cancelled.
