Thank you for your interest in joining the Advocate Ministry. Advocates are a vital part of MAF. Advocates, while unpaid, are required to complete an application, an interview process, and agree to MAF's position-appropriate policies.

Individual Advocate Application

Please complete the following application. We ask you to provide basic biographical information and answer questions regarding your family, Christian testimony, work, volunteer and missions experience. Also within the application, you will provide us with three references - a pastor and two non-family members. Please consider who you would use as a reference, speak with them about MAF and where God is leading you in ministry. There will be a background/credit check and you will interview with an Advocate Regional Manager. Completing this application does not guarantee a partnership with the Advocate Ministry.

What do I need to do?

  1. Review the application and confirm the applicant is eligible to serve as an Advocate. 
  2. If eligible, select Move Forward below and input the appropriate Advocate Manager email address.
  3. If not eligible, select Reject below and provide your reasoning.

What happens next?

Clicking Submit Form, with Post-Application Checkpoint = Move Forward will generate 2 emails. One email will be the notification that you have  a new task. The other email will be sent to the selected Advocate Manager, which provides instructions on how to proceed with the applicant.

Background and Credit Request Checkpoint

The Advocate Manager has received instructions to complete interview and references. When the interview and references are complete, advocatewing@maf.org will receive a notification. While the Advocate Manager is completeing the interview and references, HR needs to complete a background and credit check.

What do I need to do?

  1. Complete a Background/Credit Check Request and select  Yes - Move Forward.

What happens next?

Clicking Submit Form, with Background and Credit Checkpoint = Move Forward will generate an email you and assign you the next task in the workflow.

Clicking Submit Form, with Background and Credit Checkpoint = Reject will complete the Formstack portion of the workflow.

Have the Background and Credit Checks been requested?*

Final Approval Checkpoint

The background and credit checks have been requested from HR and the Advocate Manager has received instructions to complete interview and references. 

When the interview and references are completed by the Advocate Manager, advocatewing@maf.org will receive a notification.
When the background/credit check process is complete, you will receive a notification from HR. 

Once you have confirmation the interview, references, and background/credit check are completed, proceed with the task below.

What do I need to do?

  1. Create an Advocate File. 
  2. Save Application, Advocate Reference Form, and Documentation of HRs review of the Background/Credit Check.
  3. If moving forward, select Move Forward
  4. If rejecting the applicant, select Reject below and input the reasoning.

What happens next?

Clicking Submit Form, with Final Approval Check Checkpoint = Move Forward will generate an email you and assign you the next task in the workflow. 

Clicking Submit Form, with Final Approval Check Checkpoint = Reject will complete the Formstack portion of the workflow.

Confirm Training Complete

An email has been sent to the Advocate Manager to begin training. When the Training Checklist is submitted advocatewing@maf.org will be notified. This task is used to track outstanding training.

  1. Ensure the Training Checklist has been submitted.

What happens next?

Clicking Submit Form will complete the Advocate Admin portion of the workflow, will indicate training has been completed or cancelled, and notify HR to audit the Advocate file.
